Unifi will not pick up IP address

When setting up an Ubiquiti Unifi access point, DHCP is required in order to complete the setup. If you do not have DHCP enabled or if your access points will not get an IP, there is one last ditch step you can take in order to get them setup. Grab your Unifi and plug it in directly to the LAN port on your computer. Unifi’s come with a default IP of 192.168.1.20. Then Static your computers address on 192.168.1.X network. This will allow you to open the Unifi controller and adopt the access point. Once you adopt the access point you can manage it. The last step is to static the IP address, to the correct address, on the access point from the controller and restart it. Once it is restarted you will be able to plug the access point back in to your network and it will recognize.
