This week we had to add an additional mailbox for a user in Exchange 2003. She basically needs one email account under Jenny@company1.com and one for Jenny@company2.com . First I copied the user in AD and created the new email account for her. Then using the original user in AD I gave full access to the new mailbox. Then I added the new mailbox into the user’s outlook. We had to enable the “from toolbar†using view tab/from toolbar. When she sent from the Jenny@company2.com email address we realized that the sent items were going into the Kenny@company1.com’s sent email folder. After a quick bit of research we learned this is default outlook behavior using a shared mailbox that the sent and deleted items folders go the default mailbox.  There is a Microsoft fix it for this but we decided to use the registry setting found on the page. Since the user is using outlook 2002 we needed to go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\10.0\Outlook\Preferences\DelegateSentItemsStyle then set the DWORD value of the registry key to 1. This registry setting allowed the sent items folder to go into the shared folder instead.
