Dell SonicWall Net Extender in Windows 8.1

The Dell SonicWall net extender has trouble running with Windows 8 and 8.1. It works smoothly in Windows 7 and even in Windows 10. Among the multitude of errors, one of the primary ones you will receive is “Error 633”. You may also receive a notification that the server is unreachable. We could verify the account information on a Windows 7 computer and could connect fine, so we knew it was an issue with the laptop. Low and behold, all of the Windows 8 computers were experiencing the same issue. The NetExtender version we were attempting was 7.5.225. This was the latest version of the time of this article. After troubleshooting we finally downgraded to client version to 5.5.156. This can be downloaded from Mysonicwall.com. After installing the older version the computer was able to connect fine. Hopefully this is something they plan to fix on the next NetExtender Version!
